Folks, it's now official! Lumberjack Rescue has a shelter space! After a four year journey, Justin has signed the lease and a new journey begins! We are calling this new journey "The Phoenix Project" in honor of Phoenix, our pup who was burned down his back with scalding liquid, to represent our new beginning.
We need to get the new space ready so that we can move all our rescue dogs, which means at a minimum we need to build 60 kennels, outfit them with beds and water bowls, and install a cooling system to keep the pups comfortable. But the work will not stop there! We will still need to close in the outdoor space to add more kennels and build fenced-in doggie playgrounds for the pups to get their exercise. We are shooting for a grand opening in November, but until then, we have much work to do and whether we succeed or fail will depend on the support we receive!
In order to accomplish the bare minimum, we estimate that we will need to raise about $7,500 above our regular operating costs, and we will be launching several fundraisers to help reach this goal. In the meantime, if you would like to donate towards our goal, simply indicate that your gift is for "the Phoenix Project." For more information on how to give, visit our Donation Page. Scroll down the page for project goals and updates on our progress!
Lumberjack would like to say a special "Thank You" to Jeff Slack and The Slack Group for working with us over the past several months to make this happen. It really is a dream come true and now its time to ROCK this!!! To all our supporters - past, present, and future - you have our deepest thanks!
We need volunteers to walk & bathe dogs weekdays 2pm-5pm. Click here for more information.

The Phoenix Project
Additional Project Needs & Project Updates:
Large Utility Sink, preferably with 2 compartments for washing food & water bowls
Small Filing Cabinet - 3 or 4 drawers, preferably with a lock & key
Playground Obstacles or Climbers (Little Tikes plastic forts, slides, etc...)
Several X-Large Aluminum Kuranda Beds (for our big boys & heavy chewers)
1 Gallon Flat-side Steel Pails (for water & food so the dogs don't spill)
Vinyl or Faux-leather chairs and/or a love-seat (like hospital waiting room furniture)
Below are items that we still need to outfit the facility. We hope that anyone who might be upgrading or replacing these items will be willing to donate their old ones to the rescue! Should you happen to see any of these things available at a local yard sale, feel free to email us with the information!
For our project goals, we projected that we would need to raise a MINIMUM of $7,500 to cover the cost of the kennels and some other basic needs. Well we are beyond thrilled to announce that our INCREDIBLE supporters, both through the t-shirt campaign purchases & through rather generous additional donations, have managed to surpass our goal!
In just 2 short weeks, you helped us raise a little over $10,000 to put towards kennels, a new hot water heater and other necessary maintenance to the new facility! Please keep checking back for updates on our progress with the Phoenix Project and God bless you all! We never could have done this without so many wonderful supporters, so please know you are making a difference in the lives of these dogs that cannot speak for themselves!
THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR CONTINUED SUPPORT! WE COULD NOT DO THIS WITHOUT EACH AND EVERY ONE OF YOU!
